The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is offering a unique opportunity for whiskey enthusiasts to purchase rare whiskeys from the Pappy Van Winkle and Buffalo Trace Antique Collections. Through its Limited-Release Lottery, the board will award lottery registrants the chance to buy 1,896 bottles of these highly sought-after whiskeys.
Pennsylvania residents and licensees have until 5:00 PM on Friday, Feb. 16, to opt in to the lotteries and/or drawings. To participate, visit the Limited-Release Lottery web page at FWGS.com.
There will be two separate lotteries for the limited-release whiskeys. Participants can choose to opt in to one or both of these lotteries and related drawings.
The first lottery will feature 513 bottles from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC). These bourbons are aged for at least 15 years and are extremely popular. Due to limited production numbers, the demand for these whiskeys exceeds the supply.
Winning entries in this lottery are limited to one bottle per participant. If a participant wins a bottle in a drawing within this lottery, they will be removed from subsequent drawings. The retail price for each 750 milliliter bottle in this collection is $124.99.
The available whiskeys in the BTAC lottery are:
The second lottery will feature 1,383 bottles of Kentucky whiskeys produced by Pappy Van Winkle's grandson. These whiskeys are made using recipes dating back four generations and are highly sought after worldwide. The 20-year-old bourbon from Van Winkle has received exceptional ratings from Wine Enthusiast magazine and the World Spirits Championship.
Similar to the BTAC lottery, winning entries in the Van Winkle lottery are limited to one bottle per participant. If a participant wins a bottle in a drawing within this lottery, they will be removed from subsequent drawings. The retail price for each bottle in this collection will be announced.
Don't miss your chance to purchase these rare whiskeys through the Limited-Release Lottery. Visit FWGS.com before Feb. 16 to opt in and participate in the lotteries. Good luck!
