Nova Scotians now have the opportunity to buy 50/50 tickets online, which are sold at Toronto Blue Jays baseball games. This initiative is a collaboration between the Nova Scotia government, Jays Care Foundation, and the Province of Ontario. Starting this spring, Nova Scotians will be able to participate in the Jays Care 50/50 program for the first time, expanding beyond Ontario. Last year, the total jackpots for Jays Care 50/50 reached approximately $16 million, with one grand prize reaching $5.9 million.

The proceeds from all raffle tickets purchased by Nova Scotians will be used locally to support children and youth sports in the province. Additionally, Nova Scotians will also have the chance to win the main jackpot. This expansion of the 50/50 program is the first of its kind in Canadian sports. Each ticket sold in Nova Scotia will directly contribute to supporting kids in Jays Care programs across the province.

Colton LeBlanc, Minister of Service Nova Scotia, expressed his support for the partnership, stating that Jays Care Foundation does excellent work in providing facilities and programs for young people to play. This collaboration will allow more Nova Scotian kids to benefit from these initiatives.

In 2023, over 2,400 children and youth in Nova Scotia participated in Jays Care programming, and Jays Care has invested $685,000 to build and refurbish baseball diamonds in six Nova Scotia communities.
