Scientific Games has taken another step towards strengthening its presence in North America after getting recognized for its digital innovation at the 2023 SBC Awards held in New York City. At this prestigious event, the company was honored with the Lottery Supplier of the Year for its notable digital lottery innovations.
While giving out the accolade, Rasmus Sojmark, SBC’s CEO and Founder, congratulated Scientific Games on their Lottery Supplier of the Year recognition at the SBC Summit North America Awards. He noted that this award is a testament to the company’s effort, dedication, stability, and success throughout last year.
The SBC Summit North America Awards coordinators reported that this edition was the most competitive to date. This annual event was organized to honor game developers for their immense contribution to the gambling industry in the last 12 months.
In addition, the organizers of the SBC Awards noted:
“The company’s name and foundation were built on the belief that science should be at the core of every product they create. For half a century, they have been at the forefront of the lottery industry, powering the science behind the success of lotteries worldwide. Their unwavering dedication to understanding consumers’ needs and preferences has firmly established them as a trusted lottery partner and leading innovator in all things digital.”
In April 2022, Scientific Games strategically moved to sell its lottery business to Brookfield Asset Management. This move meant the company was now a 100% lottery distributor, making it a more reliable partner to regulated lottery operators worldwide. The company also celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023.
While receiving the award, Pat McHugh, Scientific Games’ CEO, expressed his delight by saying:
“We are honored to receive this award from SBC. Looking back at the past year, it’s been quite exciting for our digital business as we made significant investment in talent, content and technology advancements for our new company. While we are most often recognized by the lottery industry as the global leader in retail instant games, we are a pioneer in digital lottery and have been providing groundbreaking internet-based solutions to lotteries in North America and Europe since 2001.”
Besides North America, Scientific Games also provides a comprehensive selection of physical/digital lottery and sports betting products to 130 lottery operators across 4 other continents and 50 countries.
