This announcement was made by Lanre Gbajabiamila, the Director-General of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, in Abuja, Nigeria. The official disclosed that the conference's 2023 edition is slated to run from October 31 to November 1, adding that it will attract industry heavyweights in Africa and worldwide.

He stated:

ā€œThe Lottery Commission was deliberately creating chances and openings for the Nigerian gaming industry leaders and potential investors to interact and connect with the best gaming industry giants across the world so as to upgrade their businesses, generate more resources and enhance the winnings for Nigerians.ā€

The official disclosed that the 2023 International Gaming Conference would be at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos, with the theme "Innovation and Disruptions: Core Strategies for Success." It would include presentations, exhibitions, panel discussions, and a Gala Night where awards would be given to outstanding stakeholders and players in various categories, including regulated lottery operators.

"With the new international status of the gaming conference, the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, stakeholders, players and prospective investors have a lot to achieve in the professionally and dexterously packaged two-day conference," he added.

This announcement comes when Nigeria recently banned 30 operators from the country's market. The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority accused the brands of offering illegal lottery games and other gambling products. Citizens have been warned to avoid using the unregulated gaming sites.
