EuroMillions is among the most played lottery games in Europe. Launched in 2004, this game holds its draws every Tuesday and Friday night, with a single ticket costing €2.50.

Lucky EuroMillions Player Becomes the Latest Millionaire in Ireland

A lucky player from Dublin, Ireland, recently became the country's newest millionaire after winning €1 million in Friday night's EuroMillions draw (July 28). The draw featured a unique raffle event.

It's still unclear whether the player bought their winning ticket online or through the National Lottery App. The National Lottery has confirmed that it has already sent an email to the player as well as a notification to their online account.

According to EuroMillions, every single draw of the lottery game has at least ten players from Ireland winning €5,000 in the "Ireland Only Raffle." One of the ten winners of the €5,000 prize received an additional €1 million in Friday's draw.

Interestingly, there were more than 54,000 prize winners from Ireland in Friday's EuroMillions draw. However, no one won the jackpot prize, worth over €62 million. The jackpot is expected to hit €70 million after Tuesday's drawing (August 1).

The National Lottery's spokesperson commented:

“What a start it is to the All-Ireland football final weekend for one of our Dublin players who is now officially a EuroMillions millionaire. We are asking all our online players to check their National Lottery accounts and tickets very carefully today as they will have received a notification and an email to inform them of their prize.”

According to the regulated lottery operator, the lucky player should contact the prize claims staff via phone at 1800 666 222 or email at [email protected]. The National Lottery has said arrangements are underway to allow the lucky player to collect their reward.

This win comes in the wake of two lucky players from the United Kingdom who won £62 million on July 11, 2023. The two players matched the Lucky Stars and five numbers to take home £31 million each.
